More Hawk Mountain
Speaking of Hawk Mountain, I also wanted to put together a map of the various locations in the region that you can see from the North Lookout. The easiest things to pick out are the power facilities throughout Schuylkill County and beyond, including one in Frackville and McAdoo, the wind turbines outside Mahanoy City, and the nuclear plant in Berwick. Check out the map below and next time you head up to the North Lookout, check them out for yourself. It’s pretty cool when you realize you can see something 15 to 20 miles away!
Red - Hawk Mountain Sanctuary
Brown - Gilberton Power Company, Frackville
Blue - Locust Ridge Wind Farm, Mahanoy City
Green - Northeastern Power Company, McAdoo
Yellow - PP&L Nuclear Plant, Berwick
