Charleston
I just got back from 3 days in Charleston for a conference and I had a great time. The weather was 75 degrees and sunny which was a nice respite from the brutal cold that we’ve had around here lately. We drove down on Sunday on I-95… it took longer than flying would have but it was definitely more comfortable, and we got to see things like the horrendously over-advertised JR’s and South of the Border (don’t waste your time, no matter what Pedro says).
The highlight of the trip was definitely the conference party, which was held on the USS Yorktown, a retired WWII era aircraft carrier. I think that’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime deals, standing on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier at sunset, drinking a Corona.
