New Albums Coming in 2007
I found this story on stereogum.com listing some of the alt-rock releases coming this year. I know I’ve been psyched about the Smashing Pumpkins reunion but there’s a lot more coming, including a new one from The Arcade Fire — my favorite band for the last year and a half.
Here’s a few of the ones I’m looking forward to, including some not on Stereogum’s list. I added release dates when I could, too.
The Shins - Wincing The Night Away (Jan 23)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder (Jan 30)
Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City (Feb 5)
Kaiser Chiefs - TBD (Feb 19)
Idlewild - Make Another World (Feb 26)
The Bravery - TBD (Feb)
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank (Feb)
Kings of Leon - Because of the Times (March)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - TBD (March)
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible (April)
The Cure - TBD (May)
The Doves - TBD (Summer/Fall)
The Thrills - TBD (Early this year)
Radiohead - TBD (???)
Smashing Pumpkins - TBD (???)
Interpol - TBD (???)
The Postal Service - TBD (???)
Turin Brakes - TBD (???)
PS – To keep you busy until the albums start coming out, you can download the Shins’ Phantom Limb (mp3) for FREE on their label’s site. Also check out the video for Idlewild’s If It Takes You Home (wmv).
