Wolfgang’s Concert Vault
I read about this website in Rolling Stone magazine yesterday, http://concerts.wolfgangsvault.com/. It is an amazing collection of live classic rock recordings that you can listen to for FREE online. Registration is required, but the site is fantastic with hundreds of recordings from all of the big names: Hendrix, Zeppelin, Bowie, Neil Young, The Who, and lots more. The player is Flash based so you just click play and it starts up in your browser… no need to download anything. The sound quality is amazing as well.
Some of my favorite concerts so far:
Neil Young with Bob Dylan and The Band, March 1975
Even though there are some sound issues on this one (sound guy forgot to turn on Dylan’s mic for ‘I Want You’), it’s still the best show I’ve heard on here so far
Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers Band in December 1974
AÂ great mix of songs from the Allman Brothers catalog
Ted Nugent, April 1984
Check out the 16 minute medley of Stormtroopin, Hey Baby, Cat Scratch Fever and Wang Dang…
Neil Young & Crazy Horse, March 1970
Neil Young always rocks hardest when he’s with Crazy Horse.
Take a listen and drop me a comment to let me know your favorites.
