World Heritage Destinations Rated
I’ve been enjoying the latest issue of National Geographic Traveler, thanks to one of my many free magazine subscriptions courtesy of Slickdeals. Of particular interest is the cover story, which rates 94 UNESCO World Heritage sites. I was very surprised to find that I’ve been to seven of the different areas: Versailles, Quebec City, Paris, Assisi, The Amalfi Coast, Florence, and Venice. I was definitely surprised by Venice’s low rating of 46… although I agree with some of the points
they make, I have to say it’s still a very amazing place.

The West Fjords of Norway received the top ranking, and judging by the
pictures on Flickr, they’ve got it right. If you’re waiting impatiently for your next trip or if you’re trying to decide where to go, check out
world-heritage-tour.org where you can see 360 degree panoramas of several World Heritage sites. Also check out Arounder.com for panoramas of some of the cities on the UNESCO list.
